Greetings From The President of the St Albans Rotary Club

 

 I'm delighted to have been chosen the 2010-2011 President of the Rotary Club of St. Albans, West Virginia. I look forward to working with you and this community in promoting our club and the endless realm of possibilities during this year of “Service Above Self”.

 

The 2010-2011 Rotary International President, Ray Klinginsmith, said his Rotary Theme for this year fulfills two objectives: the first to explain Rotary to non-Rotarians, and the second to validate our work for Rotarians. The words he selected to describe Rotary's current mission and to highlight our achievements are what we do best:   Building Communities -- Bridging Continents.    He has asked Rotarians to recruit younger members and allow them to serve as district Governors and fill club and district leadership roles earlier.  His role to preside over an organization of 1.25 million members, in 32,000 clubs, located in 200 countries, is a formidable task.    I, like Ray, believe that "The reputation and ability of Rotarians to impact the world positively is better than ever and the future of Rotary is bright! The end of polio is in sight and this is an exciting time to be a Rotarian!”

St Albans Rotary does many great things in our community. This wouldn’t be true without you. The key to achieving so much is membership. New members and membership retention are critical to our Rotary's future. The membership of a healthy Rotary club is made up of men and women of different ages, vocations, professions, skills, and talents.

 

My 35 years in Rotary has changed my life. Continue with me and see how it can change yours.
